The Clean Energy Project scores big in the CycleCloud BigScience Challenge

The Clean Energy Project team had placed a bid in the CycleCloud BigScience Challenge organized by Cycle Computing, Inc. last year. In November it was announced that CEP made it into the final round of this competition. Now, the jury has made its ultimate decision and although CEP didn’t quite manage to clinch the victory we were the close runner-ups and were awarded an Honorable Mention. Cycle Computing had another nice surprise for the CEP team: In addition to the computing time we won for the 2nd place, they will donate all the idle time on their R&D clusters to the Clean Energy Project – which will likely add up to a very sizable chunk of CPU cycles ;) .
